Hen party - The Algarve

As most of you probably know, I am getting married this year. I have been with hundreds of brides on the morning of their wedding, heard all their experiences, what they loved and what they found the hardest. When it came around to my turn I knew exactly what I wanted; something easy going, stress free and full of love.

Of course the same has gone for my hen. I started off with planning a weekend for myself and my Best Ladies (Sheila Marie & Bernadette - my Sisters and Susie & Ciara - my friends). All I wanted was a relaxing weekend, sunshine and some bubbly of course!

Planning with my Best Ladies was super easy (they really are THE BEST!),  I chatted about what I would like and they went about organising my classy hen. The Algarve in Portugal was the destination that was decided.

We planned this trip about eight months in advance, which made it much cheaper to travel. Also, we picked dates that were out of high season but still guaranteed to have sunshine. Mid to end of May is the ideal time. Flights to Portugal worked out fantastic with flying from Cork on a Friday AM and returning late on a Sunday night.

After an early flight on the Friday, we relaxed for most of the day our beautiful hotel in Praia de Rocha, Hotel Algarve Casino.  A 5 star hotel, located on the beach with the most scrumptious breakfast.

After a long day by the pool, we got ready for some cocktails and Italian food. Flower crowns all the way!

Saturday was spend at my favourite beach bar No Solo Agua . The girls surprised me with this one! While Susie distracted me (taking me for a long, morning walk along the beach) the other girls drove to a supermarket and collected lots of decorations to decorate the cabana they had booked.
And what a surprise I got...

Lots of flowers, pressies and champagne awaited.

We chilled out in the beach bar until late into the evening.

Back to the hotel for a quick change and then got a taxi to Alvor, which is just a 15 minute drive and has the most amazing restaurants. We ate the tastiest fish in Vagabondo followed by some cocktails and danced late into the night..

Sunday was spent lounging at the pool, (again!) soaking up the last of the sun before our late night flight. Portugal was such a fun weekend, the perfect hen party with my bestest friends.

Stay tuned for hen party No 2!
