The lady who has everything can be hard to shop for at Christmas. But I have an idea for you - whether it be for your bestie, your Sister or that special person in your life... take a trip to the gorgeous Hayfield Manor in Cork City.
A very good friend of mine, Ciara, gave me a voucher recently for afternoon tea & spa treatments at this gorgeous hotel. While I was there I was counting the amount of friends who would love this for a gift! You are in a 5 star hotel, ideally situated in the center of the city but feels like you are in the countryside.
Ciara and I arrived at Hayfield Manor early afternoon greeted by a roaring fire on a cold, November day. The first thing I noticed was a glowing Christmas tree in the reception area, so beautiful - it just had to be photographed! There is such an old charm feel to this hotel and it's definitely a one to visit during the festive season.
We were taken to Perrotts Garden Bistro where we enjoyed our champagne afternoon tea. I loved this area, away from the main bar and quite cosy even though it is a conservatory. Sitting for a few moments I noticed the tiled floor had underground heating - bliss!
We started with a glass of bubbles then onto an array of tasty, yummy treats. The bottom tier had small (just out of the oven) scones, banana bread and petit coffee muffins. Next we were onto the sandwiches, cut into little rectangles with chicken & pesto or salmon & mustard. An egg brioche for each of us on this layer also.
And now, the best till last - the dessert layer! So much chocolate and sweet treats while having our tea topped up the whole time.
With our bellies full we headed off to The Beautique Spa for a little pampering. I choose a warm, nourishing wrap which was one of their monthly specials.
Rosemary, my therapist started by dry brushing (great exfoliation for this time of year) and applying a warm oil all over my body. Elemis are their products of choice and for a few days after I could still smell the Exotic Frangipani Monoi Body Oil that was used on my skin. I was wrapped up in a cocoon while Rosemary massaged my scalp and gave me an Elemis Taster facial. At this point I had definitely snoozed off!

I almost floated back to the relax area where I met Ciara again and chatted about what we each had done. There is full use of a hot tub, a pool and steam room but we were both too cosy lying with our blankets, drinking herbal tea and watching the stars overhead.
We drove home and our only issue was that we hadn't booked in for the night!
The champagne afternoon tea cost €39pp and my Elemis nourishing wrap cost €69. Here are their December Spa Specials
