Irish beauty blog awards

It is the fifth year of The Irish Beauty Blog Awards and I was absolutely thrilled to hear that I was nominated for the "Makeup Influencer Of The Year". I had been nominated for these National awards a few years back and it was such a great night being among the best in the business - Suzanne Jackson, Pippa and Rosie Connolly to name a few.

This award is based on public vote so I was amazed to hear I went on to be longlisted, then shortlisted and then to the finals!! 

The awards night were held in House, Dublin last week and one of my best friends Aine, was my plus one.

I didn't bring home an award but had the best night, meeting familiar faces and also some new faces. Thank you to every single person who voted for me. I really have the best clients and followers and wouldn't be where I am without you. I have made so many friends through my work in the last few years and can't wait to make so many more.

The last time I met Lucy Kennedy was in 2013 when I did her makeup for a shoot. So good to catch up again with her, such a fabulous lady.

The Spa at The Muckross Park Hotel launched The Organic Pharmacy as their new product and Louise was guest of honour on the night.

Being a tourist in Killarney for a day

Last weekend I celebrated my birthday. And what better way to spend it...  in the sunshine, with friends, doing the tourist things in Killarney!

Lagos - Portugal

Portugal is always a favourite for me. Quick flight, the best beaches, great weather and fabulous food. I took a short break to Lagos with a few friends in May.

The Beauty Duo Workshop

Our first "Beauty Duo" workshop took place last Sunday at The Aghadoe Heights Hotel in Killarney.

We had such a fun day, lots of chats about hair and makeup, delicious sweet treats and luxury goodie bags.

Sometimes we need a break away. A quiet, calm location by the sea to recharge the batteries. The Cliff House Hotel did just that for me during the Christmas season.

Irish Blog Awards 2016

It's been a hectic year and it's only now I am getting around to telling you this news. These awards were on around the same time as my wedding so unfortunately I wasn't able to attend. But I was delighted to be shortlisted again this year in Ireland's Blog Awards for "Best Beauty Blog"(two years in a row yay!)

  To have my blog shortlisted with Ireland's greatest is just amazing. I can't believe "Pippa.ie" and "So Sue Me" were along side my name the same category. 

I am so grateful for every person who takes the time and reads the blog.  Did I ever think that starting this as a hobby would go so far! 

I look forward to lots of exciting posts to come in the New Year.

I want to wish you a very Happy Christmas, I hope it's the best one yet.

 You will master the famous smokey eye with my guidance and on the hair side Cathriona will teach you how to dry style properly along with curling and braids.

We hired a car during the honeymoon, just to find those places we missed on the first time around. Andromahi at Homeric Poems (read about our hotel HERE) helped us find all those spots.

We are hosting our workshop at The Aghadoe Heights Hotel On Sunday 29th January. 

This workshop will be a little different - everyone who attends will get to work hands-on in the class!

 On the beauty side I will demo a full makeup look with contouring and a smokey eye - everything from lashes to eyeliner to that perfect brow plus I will be there to guide you step by step as you work.

Cathriona will be teaching everything hair - tips to get volume in seconds with turning a day-to-night time look, how to style that awkward fringe plus chatting celebrity trends.

We have an amazing goodie bag for everyone containing all things hair and beauty. And while you drink some tea and eat sweet treats, we will answer any questions you may have.

Last night, as a little treat for Ciara's birthday (Happy Birthday Ci) we attended an "Afternoon Tea" demonstration at Just Cooking. This fabulous cookery school is located in Firies Village, just outside Killarney. Founded by Mark & Bernie Doe, who have over 20 years experience in the food industry between them, it really is the perfect gift for a loved one or friend or a group looking for a great evening out.

We spent a few hours wandering around the National Park in Killarney today - the leaves are just so beautiful.
