Lagos - Portugal

Portugal is always a favourite for me. Quick flight, the best beaches, great weather and fabulous food. I took a short break to Lagos with a few friends in May.
We booked our accommodation through Airbnb, which worked out so well for group of six. It also helped that I had been to Lagos before, so I knew the exact location of the villa. I'd definitely recommend it as it was much cheaper but make sure to read the reviews of the property before you book.

Lagos is an old town, bustling during the day & night, a little quieter than neighbouring Albuferia or Praia De Rocha.

So many beautiful restaurants. Here are my recommendations:

Restaurant dos Artistas: fine dining at its best and so affordable. I recommend the steak here.
Beat and Burritos: Perfect for lunch. You can add your own ingredients to your burrito. Make sure you get a margarita here too!

The Garden: Love this place, especially in the evening to chill out on the hammocks. The burgers are the best here.

Baffi Bar: for your morning coffee or late night drink.
Tasca do Kiko: Tapas bar tucked away in an old ship yard.
The Quay: for amazing breakfasts and a beautiful view of the marina.

Trattoria Vecchia Milano: A real Italian! Make sure to taste their tiramisu.
Bon Vivant Bar: Sip the best mojitos in an open rooftop bar.

Scooters were fantastic as we got to discover the town and find all those quiet, beautiful beaches dotted along the coastline.

Make sure to see Ponta da Piedade. The perfect spot to take all the pics you want!

Also check out Camilo Beach and Meia Praia Beach.

We also took a trip to No Solo Agua in Praia De Roche. A pool bar with comfy cabanas, great music and delicious food.

There are so many boat trip to do when in Lagos. Definitely do the grotto trip. Its about an hour long and great to see all the beautiful beaches and cave formations.

The temperatures in May were great, warm but not roasting with a lovely breeze. The Marina is perfect for a wander at night, full of stalls. Lagos is ideal for families, couples or like us, a group of friends.
I'll definitely be back again!

If you have any questions on Lagos leave them in the comments below and I'll be sure to get back to you.
